Some time in the last year (or more—it's been a long, long time since I last wanted to Play Barbie), a rat (judging by the size of the droppings) ate everything in my make-up drawer. The clever little bugger even figured out how to remove the tops from lipstick tubes—I kid you not, apparently after chewing through some of them and deciding the cases were less appetizing than the yummy gummy contained within.
Critters everywhere are evolving in response to humanity's sprawl. And now somewhere in south Texas there's a rat cruising an alley with bright red lips, mascara on its whiskers, and powdered lavender eye-shadow on its nose.
